A big mix up as to the true Sachem that has been hidden by people now in power, I wonder why?
"Only Creator can create a Shechaim Chief as the leader, only Creator has the power to remove a Sachem Chief of the people".
Shechaim Ohjieshan (Vulpsune) Tallfox my Grandfather!
Please always remember that the posting in this blog speaks only from the hearts of the ancestors of The Moiigans (Maïngan - Yáw - Wolf-People)!
Because of so many people, places, and things using an ancient Algonquian word and using it incorrectly, and after many months of prayer I must now violate a long-standing commitment to the elders only with permission of the ancestors, the correct spelling of a royal name well known as Sachem Uncas is better known to my people as ( She-Chaim Unkas).
sachem on Line, sachem school, sagamore, sachem Inc, chief, sachem ny patch, Narragansett sachem, sachem yacht club, sachem east, sachem community and on and on?
Many of you have seen or heard about a fictional film from a fictional book written about the so-called French/Indian War, written by one of my relations and the grandson of a royal family member, "The Last of the Mohicans"?
As you know I have slammed this book/movie/ many times because of the many inaccurate insinuations and liberties taken throughout the book and the film.
What you do not know is a little known fact conveniently placed toward the ending, as in the real name for our royal leaders throughout the Eastern parts of Indian country?
Sachem or correctly pronounced as (She-Chaim) Tamenund, the Delaware Tribal Supreme Leader at the time of the French/Indian War (correctly known to my people as the English/French War on our land).
Every known true traditional tribe throughout the east side of the Mississippi should have known about this inaccurate spelling by the English and my ancestors have grown tired of the wait for their correction?
Also of interest in today's society is the right and left hands of this She-Chaim.
Sa´chem`dum~ The jurisdiction of a Sachem ( She-Chaim) in other words any counsel such as Clans, Chiefs, Warrior, and Elders.
Side note of interest, the first time a friend (Shawnee mixed) asked for me to sit to watch this film on TV, when it came to the leader of the great tribe of the Delaware, she stopped, reversed the film and questioned the pronunciation, why couldn't the leaders of so many modern 'nations' do the same?
Mahomet Weyonomon the true Sachem of the Pequot/Mohegan Tribe.
Son of Mahomet I Grandson of Oweneco ,oldest son of Uncas, his mother the sister of Sassacus, Great grandson of Uncas Great great-grandson of Oweneco, father of Uncas.
Mahomet’s father, Mahomet Sr., was killed in revenge for his murder of Capunches by Capunches’ brother, Mamonnahue in 1708.
His son, Mahomet, may have been a babe in arms at that time. Upon the death of Oweneco Sr. in 1715, Oweneco’s younger son, Cesar, ruled in the name of young Mahomet until Cesar’s demise in 1723.
Major Ben, a fourth son of Oweneco, then became Sachem, if only because of Mahomet’s youth. Ben Uncas II became Sachem in 1726 and would rule until he died in 1746.
As Mahomet grew older, he did not challenge Major Ben nor Ben Uncas.
It was reported that he feared for his life.
Captain John Mason and most of the Mohegan Tribe supported Mahomet.
However, Ben Uncas II was backed by the Colony of Connecticut and was receiving the rents from the Mohegan Land.
In 1735 Mahomet and Zachery Johnson / Augh Quant, went to England with Captain John Mason and his son, Samuel, to petition the Crown to prosecute the 1704-06 land judgment made by the Crown’s committee which had favored the Mohegan's, and set aside the one made by Connecticut Colony in 1721.
Both John Mason and Mahomet died of smallpox within weeks of each other in 1736.
Before Mahomet’s death became known in Mohegan, the Tribe had voted for him over Ben Uncas II as the true Sachem.
Only after his death was known did they vote for John Uncas as the Sachem.
Mahomet left at least one child behind, as evidenced by: 1745, Wedemow, daughter of Mahomet deceased 1756
In memory of Elizabeth Joquib, The daughter of Mohomet great grandchild of the first Unkas Sachem of Mohegan who died July 5th 1756 Aged 33 years 1761.
In Memory of Elizabeth Begneott Great grandchild of Uncas Sachem of Mohegan who died on 20th 1761 aged 14 years.
In 1929, a monument was erected to Mahomet in the Royal Burial Ground by Troop No. 1, B.S.A. of Norwich Conn. They spelled his name, “Mamohet” and even recorded the year of his death as 1735
In 1750 in the royal burial ground of the Mohegan's Indians in Norwich, CT one of the memorial state’s “In memory of Elizabeth Joquib, the daughter of Mahomet, great-grandchild to the first Uncas, great sachem of Mohegan, who died July 5th, 1740 at 38 years old. Mamohet was the rightful heir of Qwenoco but Ben, the youngest son of Uncas, of illegitimate birth, succeeded Caesar, the successor as sachem after Owenoco.
No man has to power to remove a
Sachem Chief of the people!
It has come to our attention that people wish to profit from our writings?

One is always allowed to enjoy the writings; re-blog with credit, writing to profit is a direct insult to our ancestors.
