Yes, this is a very big deal!
Diane Sawyer gave out a challenge, Goodwill and Chris
Rollins (Williams Company) said OK!
Clermont was a bit of a tall order.
“It is a lot more difficult than you would think to
find American made products in certain areas,” said Chris Rollins, Chief
Operating Officer of Williams Construction.
Goodwill said it’s already helped 2,700 people in
Central Florida find jobs this year, and using American made materials in its
stores will create more.
“For every five percent increase in American made
products, we can increase job opportunities for Americans by 220,000 people,”
Bill Oakley, C.E.O. of Goodwill Industries of Central Florida said.
Goodwill said it plans to build all its buildings this
way from now on, with the next store set to open in the Waterford Lakes area in
June.
