Fouling Florida's environment?

Fouling Florida's environment? That's simple insane

The first thing in order would have to be a profound congratulation to Bill Maxwell at Scripps Howard News Service, because he actually made it through a complete article without blaming something on our president?

Next is a heartfelt thank- you Bill for a great article in my Daily Commercial news paper and the Tampa Bay Times.

You have hit the nail on the head with this one, as to who is, was and will always be the polluters!

To my readers.

Some direct quotes from Mr. Maxwell's article, why?

Because we need to know who keeps putting money over our and the planets safety!

The list goes on and I am sure that we missed some.

Sugar Cane companies in the Everglades has been destroying Southern Florida for years!

Big Sugar, Elected officials, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, owners that keep continuing to contribute money to the same cast of characters in Tallahassee, agricultural pollution, our governors and legislators, both Democrats and Republicans, the polluting industries and their lobbyists!

As Mr. Maxwell puts it.

"It does not take rocket science to spot the loopholes".

"The fox is being allowed to guard the henhouse".

"How insane is that"?

"Last week, the Indian River County Commission, the St. Lucie County Commission, the Martin County Commission and the cities of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie Village signed a resolution asking Gov. Rick Scott to declare a state of emergency regarding the Indian River Lagoon.

The resolution implored the governor to issue an executive order to protect the waters of these areas. Scott has the constitutional authority to issue the order and to hold violators accountable.

We should be encouraged by the action of these local governments. However, because the governor and the Legislature are value business over the environment, we should expect the environmental insanity to continue unabated".

Albert Einstein said that insanity is "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
