Social Security raise $19 this year

Let's take a few moments to see if we can find out why and what we can do about it?

First

Seniors, remember that as long as our Federal Government keeps fighting over past minute government disputes instead of doing their jobs getting workers back to work, we will keep a low pay back of our own money?

Small business owners now struggling to keep your company above water, remember that when we bring our jobs back into this country, you will reap the rewards of people being able to spend once again.

Everyone else that is not now working, remember that once we elect government officials that will work for their constituents and not against them, we will open up industry and companies/employers in this country that will put our people back to work.

The U.S. Department of Labor values its strong partnerships with industry/employers, you put Americans to work.

What this means to the seniors that have put money into a social security account all of their lives is that, because congress is constantly in dispute and not doing their job for we the people , we the people cannot get back to work for industry or all employers and put more money into the social security account, remember this each time you vote.

Remember who is now in control of congress?

Social Security raise $19 this year

Social Security benefits for nearly 58 million people, more than 200,000 of whom live in Southwest Florida, will increase by 1.5 percent next year, the government announced Wednesday.

They are bragging about this?

The increase is among the smallest since automatic adjustments were adopted in 1975.

It is small because consumer prices haven’t gone up much in the past year.

The annual cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, is based on a government measure of inflation that was released Wednesday morning.

The COLA affects benefits for more than one-fifth of the country. In addition to Social Security payments, it affects benefits for millions of disabled veterans, federal retirees and people who get Supplemental Security Income, the disability program for the poor.
