As
seen on Channel 9 news this morning.
I
personally have had an encounter with flying re-cap debris and have been
chastising companies that sell it
and
the government for not condemning it!
Back
more years then I wish to admit too,
I was
riding in one of my trainees trucks with him while my service vehicle was being
serviced when an 18 wheeler blow past and one of his re-caps exploded and large
chunks cracked the windshield on our truck.
My
helper panicked and we hit a few trees out in the woods off Route 95 in New
England.
Two
days in the hospital, the service truck was not so fortunate.
The
love of my life also had an encounter with a re-cap flying through her open
driver's side window.

(AP) -
Michelin
is recalling around 104,000 BF Goodrich tires used for light trucks and
recreational vehicles because the sidewalls can rupture under severe use
conditions.
The
tire maker says no injuries or deaths have been tied to the problem.
Michelin
North America Inc. says the recall involves several types of commercial and
rugged terrain tires made in 2014 and 2015 and sold in the United States.
The
tires are used on commercial trucks; full-size, heavy-duty vans; small RVs; and
some one-ton pickup trucks.
The
tire maker will send letters starting next week to affected customers,
explaining the issue and telling them how the tires can be replaced at no
charge.
