North Korea claims to have launched its first
inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM), a long-range weapon which
military analysts say could reach Alaska.
If confirmed, the launch would mark a major step forward in the
isolated regime's nuclear programme, which aims to produce a nuclear weapon
capable of striking America.
