Old Testament
Prophecies of Jesus
Why
are there no good books, plays or movies that use
the (Tanakh),
and
the Christian Old Testament Bible Profits,
to prove that Jesus is in fact
the ‘Jews Messiah’?
Remembering
that the first four books in the Christian New Testament books of the Bible
should be an end of the old and the beginning of the New Testament?
Hollywood has
been showing their ‘slanted versions’ of the past with an emphasis on the
dramatics, to attract customers!
Why not tell
the true bible facts to attract believers?
Aren’t there
plenty of dramatic subjects by telling the truth?
I am on my
third trip through the ‘Good Books’ which makes me a newbie.
However, the
more I read the more I believe!

Predictions of the Messiah Fulfilled in Jesus Christ
The books of the Old Testament contain many passages about the Messiah — all prophecies
Jesus
Christ fulfilled. For instance, the
crucifixion of Jesus was foretold in Psalm
22:16-18 approximately 1,000 years before
Christ was born, long before this method of execution was even practiced.
After Christ's
resurrection, preachers of the New
Testament church began to declare officially
that Jesus was the Messiah by divine appointment:
"Let all the
house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and
Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified." (Acts 2:36, ESV)
Paul,
a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of
God, which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy
Scriptures, concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to
the flesh and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the
Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our
Lord." (Romans 1:1-4, ESV)
According to
Bible.org, there are four major prophets and 12 minor prophets in the Bible.
The four are Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel, while the 12 are Hosea,
Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai,
Zechariah and Malachi.
The
issue about how the Old Testament proves Jesus is the Messiah cannot be done
“in and of itself”
without the New Testament.
Since the last Old Testament book
written precedes the time of Jesus by several hundred years, it cannot “prove”
what has not yet taken place.
Fulfilled
Prophecies
The
following prophecies concerning Jesus Christ were given in the Old Testament
during the time frame of approximately 1700 BC - 400 BC. These prophecies were
fulfilled hundreds of years later, during Jesus Christ's life on earth. Each of
the prophecies listed below are followed in parentheses by the scripture
references for both the prophecy and the fulfillment.
